Happy Days!

So of course I am not as consistent with updating my blog, but I'm a busy college girl!
So many many things have happening in my life as always! Since the closure of Spring Break I have been in the library non-stop! I had 4 exams this past week alone, had to meet my new teen for the volunteer mentor program I'm involved in on Thursday, had a job interview on Friday (yesterday), and I'll fill in the fun stuff later.

To begin with, my exams ended up not being so bad, because I was very prepared for all of them. The teen that I met with on Thursday, was extremely energetic, talkative, and had a goal of going to college which made me very excited to work with her! Yesterday (Friday) I had an interview for an internship with Youth Villages this summer for my Practicum. I got the job, and the interview went very smoothly. I go in next week to finalize everything with my supervisor. :) I will be mainly working with the program that deals with the young adults who are about to be out of the program and helps prepare them for a successful journey on their own. This makes me ecstatic, because I want to work with teens and I already do this to some degree in my volunteer program. All of my hard work has paid off. Although this is an exciting moment for me, I still have much work to do with graduation in about a month and papers and projects due I still have a lot of work ahead of me, but I love it because it gets me closer to my dream! :)

The fun things that happened to me this week, on Tuesday I took Nate (Australia) and Javier (Spain) to Kroger and they surprised me, I have never seen so many vegetables in one cart! They are extremely healthy boys. That night, I went to Chili's with my roommate Andrea and our neighbors, Bryan and Michael, and Adam and Heather (Andrea's friend). We watched the Lady Vols basketball game there and I ran into Lewis (my England boy) and his friends that were visiting him from England so that was fun. Wednesday, I went to see a Murfreesboro band called Parachute Musical at World Grotto in Market Square, which was really fun. There is a band that performed after them called the Paper Route and they were awesome! Go check out their myspace they have a unique sound. Thursday I went out for my friend Lucas' 21st birthday and had so much fun. I was surrounded by people I had never hung out with before and it was awesome, because I love meeting new people! We went all around Old City and Market Square bar hopping b/c it was the man's 21st. Then we ended up at Sassy Ann's which a house that is a bar and that was an amazing experience. It was definitely my kind of people. The music played there was so random but cool at the same time. At the end of the night they started playing swing music and jazz and it was awesome to observe the style of dancing transform from crazy modern to swing 1950's style it was awesome. Last night I went to an art gallery, because it was First Friday and they were showing the UT art students' art which I was impressed with, and they served free wine and snacks. Kris told me about it and I went with him, Jason (Kris' friend), Lorne, Keith, and Kris' sister. It was a good time. After that we went to Preservation Pub to see our friend Kevin's band play and they were awesome and ended it with an Elton John song. The band that went on after them was called the Angels and the Love Mongers and they had a British rock sound which was awesome! I ended the night with meeting up with a couple internationals Nate (Australia) and my sweet Ryan (Ireland) and just hung out with them in Andy Holt which was cool.

So I have had a productive week of work and play! Next week will probably be the same, but I'm ready! I have a presentation and a paper due and my little brother is turning 3 so I am going to his birthday party and Matt White will be performing on Sunday (April 13th) at Exit/In in Nashville so I'm going to that with my sister. So another fun weekend! Now I must go clean up Ebony is on her way here I'm so excited!

Peace and Love.
Danni.
