"she only smiles in the sun"

So I have definitely been super buy since my last post, but I felt it was time for another post. I went home this weekend, and I will say that I loved it. I love my family very much and it is always a relaxing time for me to hang out with them. :) I stayed at my mom's house, and babysit my little brother on Valentine's Day (yes, he was my Valentine, but he is the only man I need right now lol) and I chatted with a new friend from England. So My Valentine's Day was not all I expected it to be, but it turned out to be an enjoyable one for me.

Friday I worked at my dad's work all day, because I am trying to save up for Spring Break in a few weeks and that is always enjoyable, because I love talking with my dad. I told him about the job opportunities I have been having and he was proud of me as always, but there is always that opinion of his he has to "sneak in" but I treasure it because I know it is him just looking out for his baby girl. :)

Saturday was a fun day, I went with my mom and my little sister Heather to get Nicholas' hair cut. He is very handsome now. My mom was generous enough to pay for an eyebrow wax for my sister and I. Thanks mom! Then we traveled to Sam's with her and she bought me some plug-in refills because I have a weird obsession with having my room smell good. That afternoon, me, Heather, and Jeanne went to Opry Mills Mall and that was a blast because we never get to have girl time with Jeanne so it was nice to have her out with us. She was even generous enough to purchase an outfit for us. Thanks Jeanne!

Saturday night I went out on the town with my sister, and we met up with my best friend Ebony. We went to this piano bar called "The Big Bang" and I had a blast there, that is definitely a fun fun fun place to go to if you are ever in the Nashville area and enjoy music. Then we headed to On the Rocks which is our regular hang out whenever I come in town and there was a cover band there that was awesome, I had a good time. It was so nice to hang out with Ebony, she is my girl and I can tell her just about anything and she will not judge me or think that I am crazy because she knows me so well.

Sunday I traveled back to Knoxville, to start a new week of school and studying and learning. I chatted with my English friend for a bit and called it a night. Last night I studied all night for my test that I had today, and all of my hard work paid off. I feel confident about my test, and I feel an A coming on! :)

Well that was my weekend. BTW, my headline is the quote of a song by Ben Harper and that is the title as well. It's a great song.

One song/artist to check out is Landon Pigg, his song "Coffee Shop" I have as my profile song and it is my current mood song right now. I have just been happy lately. :)

Peace and love,
Danielle

Things are looking up! : )

Well today I received a call from Youth Villages about my resume that I sent to them. This is very exciting for me, because I have to do an internship this Summer for my Practicum to get my degree. Most of the places we have to choose from are voluntary, considering we receive school credit. Youth Villages are offering to pay be, but the only fall back is it's a 10 week program for 40 hours/week so that's only 400 hours, and I need 510 to conclude my Practicum. Hopefully I can work something out with them and maybe volunteer the rest of my 110 hours I need. I am anxiously awaiting a call from her again. So keep me in your prayers, this is what I need because money is tight already and this Summer I need to save.

On a lighter note, I get to come home tomorrow! Home is very relaxing to me because I get away from school, work, and friend stress. Plus, I love my family and spending time with them. I also get to work for my dad on Friday to make some money for Spring Break coming up, which I will be going to Panama City, FL. Yes, I know yall are jealous, but I deserve a vacation! I guess I will go ahead and post some pictures of some of my friends I hang out with here, and some pictures from New York, when I went for New Years.

Enjoy!

Imagine

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
"Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world" - John Lennon

~If only the world today could live in peace. :) This is a picture I took in New York when I went there for New Years. I thought it was pretty awesome. And it was in Central Park in the section "Strawberry Fields." Really read the lyrics to this amazing song, I imagine this to be my heaven.

That's all for now.

First Blog, opening a window to a peek in my life.

Well this is the first time that I am "blogging." So excuse the randomness. I have yet to start putting pictures up, but I will soon. I intend to use this site as an online journal of my thoughts, meaning mostly words, but some pictures for the visualizers out there like me. :)

I attend a College ministry on Monday nights at Fellowship Church here in Knoxville, called "Crossroads." I love this ministry! The worship and the message are awesome. Well for 4 weeks the speaker, Greg, is speaking on the topics of Love, Dating, Marriage, and Sex. Tonight was week 2 on the topic of "Dating," and let me say that it was definitely an eye-opener for me. For all this time I thought I was doing this whole dating thing the wrong way, because I must admit I'm a pretty picky person and don't go out with just anyone. I have always been skeptical of dating because I don't date "just for fun" that's what friends are for (fun). When I think of dating I think of marriage, yes I know maybe extreme, but that's just how I have been because I want someone who pursues me, knows who they are, and most importantly is a Christian. Divorce is not something I want to experience personally. I am a product from a divorced family, and for 2 years my life was hell.

All in all, I have been doing much thinking with all of the aspects in my life right now. I am at a point in my life where I am figuring out who I am, what I like and dislike, and so on. I am about to have a college degree at the end of the Summer and head out into the workforce, which I'm excited and scared at the same time. Goals of mine that I have had for a long time are starting to be checked off and it's such an accomplishment. I am starting to get back into church, after not going for a year and that has truly been a blessing. I am just a "church hopper" at the time, but I think I have found a church I enjoy and I get a lot out of so we will see, I'll keep everyone updated. I have been looking to God more with my problems, in times of weakness, and in times of praise. He has taught me much.

More to come, it's time for me to go into a slumber. ;)

PS... Song to check out, "Colorblind" - Counting Crows.... watch the music video on youtube, very moving, I have been addicted to Counting Crows' music all week "A Long December" is awesome as well.
